Panasonic DMP-BD60 Review

Product Description:

Panasonic DMP BD60The Panasonic DMP-BD60 is a high quality Blue Ray DVD player aimed at proving high quality images with advanced networking.

Panasonic has always been commited to proving products that are easy to use. This specific DVD player comes with what is known as a VIERA link, allowing people to operate the DVD with just one remote, via HDMI.

The Panasonic DMP-BD60 uses what is known as precision 4:4:4 signal technology. This works together with PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus to process each of the Blue Ray pixels. The P4HD technology is able to process over 15 billion pixels in a second which gives it a superior picture quality to other DVD blue ray players.

The Panasonic DMP-BD60 also uses a 16-level motion detection system. This is able to layer the motion of each pixel throughout 16 levels, so it can transform pictures recorded in 480p or 720p into 1080p. It is also able to reproduce an image in a1080/24p output. This means that people can watch images from the cinema in their original format without the need for conversion.

To stay as green as possible Panasonic has also included a function that turn the DVD player off, whenever the user switches back to watching the TV.

The Panasonic DMPBD60 contains a slot for an SD Memory card, as well as a USB slot. This means it is very easy for users to look at or exchange digital photos and HD video recorded, with the AVCHD format.

Panasonic DMP-BD60 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player,
R. W.Powell

5 stars
I am relatively new to this whole HD/flat screen thing, but in just the last 2 months I have become a convert. I bought the Panasonic DMP-BD60 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player so I could get full enjoyment out of the Neil Young archives. While I waited forever for that oft postponed collection, I picked up a couple movies (2001 Space Odyssey & couple others). Awesome. I can never go back. SD Digital hurts my eyes now. Even standard DVD looks ordinary. It plays mp3 CDRs, Audio CDs, and bunch of other formats. It supports BD-Live which is an apparently new / developing technology that I do not fully understand yet. The player firmware can be updated directly via internet. I just discovered that I can play mp3s stored on a thumb drive plugged into the USB port on the front of the player. Very cool. No more burning mp3 CDs every time we entertain (unfortunately no random play feature). All things considered – this player is best quality/most features/fairest price option I found.

OUTSTANDING PLAYER. SUPER PRICE,

I bought this Panny Blu-Ray for myself about 2 months ago. Very simple firmware update over the net. Not only does this unit have unbeatable blu-ray video quality, but the upconversion of standard DVDs is truly outstanding. I was so impressed with this blu-ray player, I bought 2 more as Christmas gifts.

The only drawbacks for the videophile are the lack of Netflix and the slow load times seen in nearly all blu-ray players. For this price, I can accept these shortfalls. I am hoping Netflix will be added for this unit at a later date.

Great Player Overall,

Overall, I’m very happy with it though and have already highly recommended it to friends. Believe it or not, there is an another model of Panasonic Blu-ray player sold on Amazon that is a combination Blu-Ray/VHS player. I still have a bunch of videocassettes in my home. It was either pay too much money to have them converted, never watch them again as long as I live, or buy this player. So I think that will be my next purchase.
